Panasonic's 150" Plasma TV: Too Big?

COOL INVENTIONS : Panasonic's 150" Plasma HDTV

Just how big a TV do we really need, is 150 inches big enough? From Panasonic comes this huge, big, mammoth-like, gigantic (whatever you may want to call it) High Definition TV. Panasonic already has a 103" HDTV, but apparently, they think it's not big enough, so they're making it a lot bigger, a whopping 150 inches! Isn't this a bit too much, I mean how is it supposed to fit in our doors, if it's way taller than your average person?!

But I have to say, this HDTV is very impressive. Think movies and video games... with a TV as big as this, you'll feel like you're on the actual scenes yourself! With 8.84 mp resolution and a viewing area that measures 11 x 6 1/4 feet, this TV is just awe-inspiring. It's just up to the people whether or not they'd want to spend millions of dollars for this beauty, but it definitely takes entertainment to the highest level.

Save Energy And Reduce Food Garbage

INVENTION IDEAS : Hybrid Gas Range

The Hybrid Gas Range, designed by Korean designer Seokmoon Woo, is an innovative concept that uses food garbage as an alternate fuel for the gas range. Food garbage is becoming a problem nowadays, so to help reduce food garbage, this concept was created. Users can put away food garbage in a classifier, in which it ferments and methane is created. Methane can be used as an alternative fuel for the gas range. This not only reduces food garbage in a household, it can also save energy. If you want to switch to regular gas, you can do so by just pressing a button. Talk about a concept that is not only useful but also environment friendly. This is just a concept for now, but hopefully, it will be launched soon.

Pet-Sensing Doorbell: No More Door Scratches!

COOL INVENTIONS : Pet-Sensing Doorbell

For pet-owners, dogs and cats primarily, I'm sure you know all too well the frustrations when you see scratches on your door, caused by your furry pet. When pets want to go out or be let in, and the door is closed, it's in their instincts to scratch it. Good thing if you're there every time to open the door for them, but what if you're in another room and you can't see them?

The Pet-Sensing Doorbell is a great solution for this. It's an innovative cordless doorbell that rings when your pet approaches within 6" to 3' of the door. A "Smart Key", which attaches to your pet's collar transmits a coded signal that activates the doorbell when it comes within range. The sound lasts for about 7 seconds and repeats every 5 to 10 seconds. You can adjust the volume or turn it off at your convenience. Now, the only catch here is if you're too lazy to get up and open the door.

Life Clock: Because Every Minute Counts

INVENTION IDEAS : Life Clock

If you are particular with your age, then this clock is a tool that you will either appreciate or hate as the years go by. The Life Clock by Bertrand Planes, may just be an ordinary clock at first glance, but when you'll look closely, you'll notice that the numbers are high. That's because one rotation of the Life Clock is equal to the average lifespan of humans. It's slowed down 61320 times so that each minute equals a year.

Everybody has their own reaction seeing their life on a clock. Others might feel that it's hands are moving too fast, others may think it's too slow. For those who are age-conscious, this might be kind of depressing to look at. Nevertheless, it can be a good reminder that life is too short, and therefore, we should make every minute count.

COOL INVENTIONS : HomeStar Spa

I've always loved planetariums since I was a kid. They offer a glimpse of the skies and makes you feel like you're in space. That's why when I heard of the Homestar Spa from Sega Toys, I thought it was absolutely wonderful. It's a planetarium for your bath that sets a mood for you to enjoy. There's the Bath Star that paints the bathroom with stars, Rose Bath that paints the room with a rosy glow, and the Deep Ocean that paints the room a cool blue.

These graphic domes float in water and emit a bright light that projects out into the bathroom, or if you want, flip it over to send the light into the tub itself. This wonderful ambient lighting is perfect for relaxation. I personally love the Bath Star because I've always loved the feeling of gazing at stars. Get your own planetarium at home with the Homestar Spa!

LightMate Heated Body Pillows

COOL INVENTIONS : LightMate Pillows

Just when you thought you'll spend cold lonely nights alone without someone to warm you up, people like Francesca Lanzavecchia invent something that can potentially be a substitute for human warmth. LightMates are soft anthropomorphic pillows that are also warming lamps. They are capable of giving heat, light, and company. They come in different sizes and shapes to accommodate everyone's preference.

Personally, the big ones creep me out. They look like big intestines with a tail. The smaller ones are cuter and are great if you need something to warm you up on a cold, winter's night, and there's no one around to give you warmth. What do you think of these invention ideas?

Paro: The World's Most Therapeutic Robot

INVENTION IDEAS : Paro Seal Therapeutic Pet Robot

Cool inventions in the world are getting cooler and more impressive by the minute. I was amazed when I saw this cute little furry seal. I thought it was a stuff toy at first sight, but lo and behold, it's actually a robot which is designed to be a therapeutic pet.

Pets are known to be therapeutic to humans. Paro emulates live pets, and is especially designed for people who can't care for real pets or those who live in places where pets aren't allowed. With Paro, they can have the benefits of a real live pet, minus the hassles of caring for a live one.

I adore this little seal. Apparently, it's an interactive robot that has 5 kinds of sensors that allows it to react to people and its surroundings. It even behaves like a real live pet, it's active by day, and gets sleepy at night! It's absolutely adorable. I'm impressed with people who develop such amazing invention ideas.
